First 100-Point 2016 Bordeaux Bottle Scores Released [+]

Robinson tasted 138 crus classés and noted “The fruit is bright and beguiling and there is no shortage of tannin and freshness.” Julia Harding MW, from JancisRobinson.com, also comments “Of the left-bank wines I tasted, the Pessac-Léognan reds shone most brightly, retaining their archetypal fragrance but also achieving greater richness and a little more generosity than in some vintages. Ch Haut-Bailly, which is often slightly reclusive at this early stage, was the star for me and yet still promises to have a very long life.” Robinson’s top-rated wines from her recent tasting were Château Figeac (18.5 points), Château Pichon-Longueville, Baron (18.5 points), Château Haut-Bailly (18 points), and Château Pape-Clément (17.5 points)... see more
