2016 Futures Update: d’Armailhac Now Available

Pauillac is at the epicenter of the amazing 2016 vintage and the Château d’Armailhac is a highlight from our recent trip to Bordeaux. It is an amazing value at $46/bottle especially given that it's from the same portfolio as the wine-of-the-vintage candidate, Chateau Mouton-Rothschild. Neal Martin and James Suckling consider the 2016 d'Armailhac to be one of the best in the Chateau's history.

We recommend this wine as a very cost-friendly introduction to this great vintage. Act fast as the release was very limited this year and will sell out quickly.

Château d'Armailhac
"...bouquet is very impressive, typical d'Armaihlac in terms of the opulence and flamboyance with lush black cherry and boysenberry fruit, a subtle floral note developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp and tensile entry; there is immense purity here with some lovely blue fruit appearing on the finish. This is a d'Armailhac that is emboldened by unprecedented tannic structure that gives it real backbone and a sense of authority. Quite simply, this is one of the best wines of Château D'Armailhac that I have tasted..." (92-94 points) Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #230, April 2017
"This is really tannic and muscular for d’Armailhac. Perhaps the most powerful ever. Full and chewy yet balanced and polished. Very, very impressive. Greatest ever?" (95-96 points) JamesSuckling.com, April 4 2017
