Cristal at HDH Retail | 2002 Brut and 2009 Rosé
Hart Davis Hart Retail is pleased to offer two selections of the always remarkable Cristal: 2002 Brut and 2009 Rosé. Cristal made its first appearance in 1876 to satisfy the very particular taste of Tsar Alexander II; he was especially fond of Louis Roederer wines and wanted something special created just for him. Only produced in the best years, Cristal is known for its impeccable balance, silky texture, and astounding length.

Antonio Galloni called the 2002 Brut "off the charts" and "captivating" with its floral and herbal scents and creamy, layered texture. The 2009 Rosé is refined and silky with a balance that Galloni notes "places it among the best new releases of the year."

Don't miss the chance to add these wines to your cellar today.

2002 Louis Roederer, Cristal (99 AG)
$345 per bottle
"The 2002 Cristal (magnum) is off the charts. In magnum, the 2002 shows a bit less of the opulence and richness it presents in bottle, which is not at all a bad thing for a vintage that has so much natural exuberance. Creamy and exquisitely layered in the glass, the 2002 is wonderfully expressive today, not to mention incredibly inviting. Dried flowers, mint, Mirabelle and wild flowers give the 2002 captivating inner perfume and tons of sheer allure. This is the original 2009 disgorgement. Dosage is 9 grams per liter, lower than was once the norm here, and the result of a combination of factors including climate change, generally riper fruit and a warm growing season." 2009 Louis Roederer, Cristal Rosé (97 AG)
$489 per bottle

"A wine of sublime delicacy and finesse, the 2009 Cristal Rosé is simply magnificent. The 2009 is surprisingly refined, silky and nuanced for a wine from a warm vintage. The red and floral-infused overtones are quite attractive, but it is the wine's exceptional balance that places it among the best new releases of the year. Over the years, I have had the chance to taste many vintages of Cristal Rosé, a Champagne that needs bottle age to be at its very best. I suspect that will be the case here as well. Don't miss it."
