Mobile-Only Auction
of Finest & Rarest Wines

Friday, January 13, 2017
Live bidding begins at 8:30am

ONLINE ONLY

Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. is thrilled to announce that its next mobile-only auction will be held on Friday, January 13th. This landmark sale will feature a host of old and new-world wine of incredible diversity and provenance. HDH will utilize its groundbreaking bidding platform, available online and through the HDH mobile app, to execute this auction.

HDH rolled out its revolutionary bidding technology in March of 2015. The platform, which can be used for both absentee and live bidding, has been an integral part of every auction since and has greatly enhanced the bidding experience. Thousands of clients have downloaded the app and many more have bid online, dramatically increasing the number of participants in each auction. In July of 2016, HDH utilized this technology for its first mobile-only auction. The sale was a huge success; as such, the firm has permanently added online auctions to their annual auction schedule.

The format of HDH’s online-only auctions is very different from internet auctions held by HDH’s competitors. Like traditional sales, absentee bidding will be blind and bidders can submit live bids on the day of the auction as each lot comes up for sale. Unlike traditional wine auctions, however, there will not be an option to bid via phone or in-person. All bids must be submitted through the auction website (auction.hdhwine.com) or mobile app (available on Android and iOS devices).

HDH’s January sale contains a wealth of highly sought-after Bordeaux and Burgundy. An estimated $271,840-$406,960 of Bordeaux will be offered, including a stunning collection of mature, classified Bordeaux from the cellar of an esteemed private collector (lots 1-100). The sale also features a curated selection of Bordeaux from the Josue V. Harari Collection. Collectors of Burgundy will be pleased to find 254 lots valued at $167,020-250,660 from Dujac, Leroy, Ponsot, Vogüé and more top producers.

In addition to the many excellent old world wines, Hart Davis Hart’s January auction also boasts a deep selection of California’s greatest wines, including Joseph Phelps Insignia, Schrader, Sine Qua Non, and many more. Also of note is an installment from the Orlando Bonelli collection consisting mainly of rare German Rieslings. Finally, those interested in Rye and Bourbon will not want to miss bottlings from Pappy Van Winkle, Heaven Hill, Willet and more.

Hart Davis Hart dominated the U.S. auction market in 2016 finishing the year almost 50% ahead of its nearest competitor. The team is looking forward to carrying this momentum into 2017 with their second mobile-only auction. Wine collectors will not want to miss out on this spectacular sale.
