Mouton, Top Wine of 2016, Has Released Label Art

100 Points Awarded by The Wine Advocate

Château Mouton Rothschild, one of the top wines of 2016, has just released its label art. The 2016 vintage received excellent en Primeur scores and has already received a 100-point in bottle score from The Wine Advocate and 18.5+ from Jancis Robinson. Lisa Perrotti-Brown states the 2016 is a “Powerful, profound wine.”

Every year since 1945, the Château has chosen a great artist to illustrate their label. For the 2016 vintage William Kentridge from South Africa illustrated the label. The Triumphs of Bacchus details that “a great wine, although first and foremost a pleasure, is also inseparable from a cultural tradition which demands respect and moderation.”

HDH Retail has 2016 Mouton available for purchase, don’t miss out this incredible 2016 Bordeaux.

2016 Château Mouton Rothschild
100 WA | 18.5+ JR

1 bottle $599
6 bottles $3,594

"The 2016 Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, with the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot vinified together. It has a very deep purple-black color and slowly slides out of the glass with spicy notes of Sichuan pepper, cloves and cinnamon stick giving way to a core of perfumed black fruits and florals—blackcurrant cordial, candied violets, blackberry compote, rose hips and black plums—plus suggestions of espresso, damp soil, tar and beef drippings. Medium-bodied, the palate is very firmly structured and jam-packed with latent energy about to burst, offering superbly ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the intense floral and black fruit layers and finishing very long and very minerally. Powerful, profound wine." (100 points) Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate Interim Issue, November 2018
