Côte de Nuits, 1er cru

$110.00 per Bottle

"Borders Les Saint-Georges to the north. Offers a very ripe dark-cherry nose with ample sweet earth and spice aromas. Really fresh with an average of 50% whole bunches. The definition of tannins on the palate is impressive. Finishes with crispness and verve. Try from 2020." JamesSuckling.com

"The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Cailles 1er Cru has an attractive, open-knit, almost warm bouquet of lovely raspberry and crushed strawberry scents and hints of marmalade and fig. The palate is very well balanced, with firm, saturated tannins that lend both fatness and velvety texture. Fortunately, the acidity is such that it retains admirable balance and there is enormous depth toward the finish. Great potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting." "A rather closed nose. The palate breaks open with freshness and spills fresh, well-judged red fruit with some grippy tannin. This is not quite as dense but juiciness seems to spill. This has verve and drive and is beautifully balanced." Anne Krebiehl MW, The World of Fine Wine, Issue 55

"The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles is one of the highlights of Bouchard's red portfolio in 2015, offering up a complex nose of orange rind, squab, red and black fruit, strawberry and rose petal. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with creditable depth and length, structured around fine-grained but firm tannins that assert themselves on the classically Nuits finish. While more might have been possible in the 2015 vintage, this is an excellent wine." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #236
