TASTING NOTES

"This is so powerful with incredibly subtle fruit character of pineapple, peaches and apples. Some lees and cream. Full-bodied yet remains agile and tensioned. Wonderful finish. Hard not to drink now. For now or ageing." JamesSuckling.com

"Gorgeous, showing Bosc pear and Jonagold apple fruit laced with a bright green plum note and backed by alluring honeysuckle, quinine and chamomile accents. This has a creamy texture, but with stone-cold precision through the finish. Best from 2019 through 2030. 608 cases made." Wine Spectator

"The 2015 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is rich and beautifully layered, with tons of depth and no excess weight. Lemon confit, orchard fruit, smoke, mint and floral notes emerge effortlessly. With time in the glass, the 2015 shows a range of lightly tropical-inflected flavors and the textural weight of the Sémillon. Absolutely impeccable in its balance, the 2015 will drink well pretty much from the outset." Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

"The La Mission Haut Brion 2015 Blanc, a blend of 67% Sémillon and 33% Sauvignon Blanc, was surprisingly closed on the nose when I tasted it at the château. Despite encouragement it reveals nuanced wet wool, dried honey and Granny Smith apple scents, but I was expecting more vigor. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, the oak very well integrated with a light, nutty, marzipan-tinged finish that lingers in the mouth. This is difficult to read at the moment, so I will revisit this with some bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2022 - 2040." Neal Martin
