Graves, cru classé

"Shows mineral, flint, green apple skin and citrus fruit on the nose. Very intense and focused. Racy. Has a powerful, full-bodied palate, with a thick, layered structure, fabulous acidity and subtle ripe fruit. Very long and present, yet tight and reserved. Needs time. Best after 2014. 665 cases made." Wine Spectator

"A sensational example of Laville, the light green/gold-hued 2005 offers up a superb bouquet of spring flower blossoms, melted wax, honeysuckle, caramel, ripe citrus, and a subtle hint of smoke. This superb, full-bodied, fabulously concentrated white should have 40 years of longevity." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #176

"As usual, very different from Haut-Brion, and at this stage less dazzling. Appealing aromas of citrus and fine honey; very classic, fresh, and long, still on a generous scale." Michel Bettane/Thierry Desseauve, The World of Fine Wine, Issue 13

"Pale gold. Light nose and very youthful and undeveloped. Lots of acidity and still a bit austere. Has not yet developed the Laville richness. Lightly oily. Lemony. Still tight and undeveloped. This opened up in the glass quite considerably and I would expect it to improve." JancisRobinson.com
