2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château Mont Thabor

Southern Rhône

$45.00 $35.00 per Bottle

1 Bottle

"The 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape may be the finest wine I have ever tasted from this estate. Its distinctive perfume of roasted Provencal herbs, sushi seaweed wrapper (Nori), black cherries, plums, and raspberries is followed by a concentrated, full-bodied, complex, rich, layered, long Châteauneuf. While it is accessible (as most 2007s tend to be), it will benefit from several years of cellaring, and should drink well over the following 12-15 years." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #185

"Bright red. Expressive scents of fresh red berries, cherry skin and cola, along with a hint of dried lavender. Pliant red and dark berry flavors provide very good palate coverage and pick up notes of candied flowers and mocha with air. Finishes fresh and lively, with echoing notes of red fruits and flowers. This is complex enough to drink now." Josh Raynolds, Vinous.com

"Thick and crimson. With quite an evolved rim. Lively sweetness. Positively clucking with ripe fruit and quite a bit of gas dissolved in this sample. Should deliver lots of pleasure even if it is not the most subtle. Fades rather fast." JancisRobinson.com
