TASTING NOTES

"Bright light yellow. Classic Perrières aromas of underripe pineapple, yellow grapefruit, spices and crushed rock, plus a hint of mineral reduction. Dense and plush but weightless, offering a rare combination of silkiness of texture, minerality and energy. A note of grapefruit peel combines with stony minerality to give this wine superb clarity and inner-mouth lift. Croix does not see this wine shutting down in bottle but it's sharply delineated and a bit tight today. The very long, rising finish leaves the mouth perfumed. I would never have guessed the vintage here thanks to the wine's limestone-driven mineral freshness." Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com

"There is enough post-bottling reduction to render the underlying fruit impossible to assess so I would suggest decanting this for a few minutes if you can't constrain your curiosity! Otherwise there is superb vibrancy and freshness to the firmly mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess very good density while offering strikingly good length on the dry, saline and well-balanced finale. Not surprisingly this elegant effort is going to need a few years to better harmonize and should amply repay up to a decade of cellaring." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Issue 67
