"An unusual blend of nearly equal parts Grenache and Mourvèdre with the balance 15% Syrah, from 40- to 50-year-old vines, this 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape was aged primarily in concrete tanks, with 10% spending time in small oak barrels. A sensational effort, it exhibits a dense purple color as well as a soaring perfume of beef blood, graphite, fresh mushrooms, blueberries, and blackberries. This deep, full-bodied, impressively structured effort possesses sweet tannins in addition to tremendous purity and texture. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 15-18 years. This estate merits serious attention from Châteauneuf du Pape enthusiasts.
A big-time sleeper of the vintage, this is the first time I have tasted this wine from proprietor Julien Mus, who left the cooperative to estate bottle his wine." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #185
