"Good red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of musky currant , black raspberry, camphor and tobacco leaf. Round and plump for St. Estèphe, with noteworthy volume and seamless texture; sweeter by far than the château's 2007 or 2006 samples but possesses harmonious framing acidity. Finishes with broad tannins that arrive late. A big success." Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com

"Has notes of blackberry, with Indian spices and green tea. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins, a silky texture and a medium finish. Balanced and very refined. A beautiful young wine. Best after 2011." Wine Spectator

"Round and velvety on the nose. Riper than most St-Estèphes! Round and very supple. Quite a bit of acidity rather than tannin. Something a bit inky about this. A tiny bit pinched on the finish. Needs time?" JancisRobinson.com
