"Residual SO2 is sufficient to dominate the nose today. Marvelously energetic and intensely mineral-driven flavors also possess excellent cut that characterizes the bitter lemon and saline-inflected finish that delivers seriously fine length. This chiseled effort is almost Chablis-like and will require at least a few years of bottle age first." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Issue 71

"The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is excellent, unfurling in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp Anjou pear, beeswax, wet stones and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and incisive, with an elegantly satiny attack, a tangy line of acidity, and a tight-knit, concentrated core, concluding with a beautifully delineated finish. This is a racy, acid-driven Genevrières which will evolve beautifully in the cellar. Bouchard's holdings in Genevrières amount to some 15% of the appellation, so it's reassuring to see that they are in good hands." William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Lean and tight, with oak spice wrapped around a core of lemon, apple and stone flavors. Firms up in the end, yet shows the intensity and promise of things to come. Best from 2021 through 2029. 150 cases imported." Wine Spectator

"Ripe toffee-apple notes on the nose and rich, fleshy texture on the palate. Loads of core fruit driving the persistence. Full of potential for future complexity, and counters its fullness with excellent acidic bite on the finish." Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com
