TASTING NOTES

"Smoke, talc and wet stone on the very fresh, minerally nose. Dense and tactile but extremely young; an impressive mouthful of liquid stone today. Superconcentrated but youthfully tight and dry. Even better than it appeared to be from barrel a year ago, and developing very slowly." Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
(IWC, 09/01/2003)

Rating: 91(+?)

"Finer still with cool, refined and pure mineral suffused green apple and white flower aromas that lead to classy, utterly seductive and delicious, middle weight flavors of undeniable class and grace. The acidity frames and defines the '01 Perrières and gives real lift to the back end. Like the Genevrières, this is a beautiful effort that should reward cellaring over the medium term." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Issue 11
(AM, 07/01/2003)

Rating: 90
Drink from: 2007-2012

"Great expression of Burgundian terroir in this satisfying Chardonnay. Explodes with vivid ripe fruit and citrus flavors and a distinctive wet earth, mineral, stony character that anchors it solidly in its appellation. A bit dry on the finish, for now. Drink now through 2010." Wine Spectator
(WS, 09/15/2003)

Rating: 90
Drink from: 2003-2010
