TASTING NOTES

"Tough and closed in, but there's plenty going on in the glass. A full-bodied wine, with black cherry, charcoal and light earth aromas and tons of flavor. Has super-firm tannins and a tight structure. Needs much more time.--Châteauneuf-du-Pape retrospective." Wine Spectator
(WS, 10/15/1991)

Rating: 90

"Very low proportion of Grenache. Very, very dark ruby with definite development on the rim. Quite a subtle nose - tea? Violets too. Mouthfilling, warming, not very very subtle or many high notes. Slightly dusty end. Relatively lightweight. Not intense. A bit gamey and low key. Sweet, a bit simple." JancisRobinson.com
