2017 Chassagne-Montrachet, En Remilly, Bruno Colin

Côte de Beaune, 1er cru

$165.00 per Bottle

"A cooler and much more elegant nose flashes admirable purity to the green apple, white flower and citrus peel scents. There is terrific intensity to the much more mineral-driven medium weight flavors that, not surprisingly, are considerably more refined before concluding in a balanced and sneaky long finish. This needs to develop a bit more depth but the underlying material is present such that more complexity should progressively emerge." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Issue 75

"Aromas of white peach and menthol, plus a note of stony reduction. A step up in sweetness and texture over the previous premier crus--in fact, this is round, silky and smooth, and perhaps less taut and gunflinty than usual for this wine. This fruit may have been higher in pH than most of his other premier crus but not riper in terms of grape sugar, noted Colin, who told me that he now works about one-third of this 1.5-hectare appellation. This wine should give pleasure early." Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com

"Crushed rocks poured over citrus, and the oak is hidden by that stony nose. Very gourmand on the palate after the strict nose, full and creamy then tightens again on the finish." Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com
