2014 Barolo, Rocche dell'Annunziata, Roberto Voerzio

La Morra, Piedmont

"The 2014 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is slightly (just a hair) more accessible at this very premature stage in its drinking life. The wine opens to broad and wide fruit flavors that include cassis, wild cherry and dried blueberry with savory tones of tar, licorice and tobacco. These elements are carefully stitched together within a tight and elaborate embroidery. The mouthfeel is silky and long, but there is also a very subtle element of softness that makes this wine taste smooth and rich on the palate." Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #237

"The Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is the most forward and supple of Roberto Voerzio's 2014 Barolos. Medium in body and open-knit, the 2014 comes across as a wine that is best suited to near- and medium-term drinking. The silky, pliant feel is classic Rocche. Today, the Rocche is just missing the persistence and depth of the finest wines in this range." Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
