TASTING NOTES
"Dark, bright red. Wild, complex nose melds black raspberry, smoky minerality, licorice and a hint of game. Silky, fine-grained flavors of dark berries, spices and crushed rock convey a strong impression of energy if not quite the early personality of the Latricières. Utterly seamless wine, finishing with terrific palate-saturating length if still an element of youthful reserve. Seriously gripping, savory tannins give added lift. These 80-year-old vines produced 28 hectoliters per hectare in 2016. This firmly structured, powerful wine should be very long-lived." Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com

Rating: 93-96
"Pungent aromas of firm reduction and wood toast introduce sleek, intense and powerful middle weight flavors that possess excellent definition on the mineral-inflected and impressively long if somewhat lean and austere finish where a hint of warmth surfaces. This too will need a few years of bottle age to flesh out." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Issue 69
