TASTING NOTES
"The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is showing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, unfurling in the glass with a lovely and expressive bouquet of cherries, dark chocolate, incense and subtle hints of smoky new oak and clove. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and velvety with a deep core of fruit, tangy but ripe acids and a long, penetrating finish. It's a beautifully elegant and direct example of Chapelle-Chambertin, from a parcel planted in 1920-1921 where most of the old vines remain intact." William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a crisp red cherry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet with just a touch of tomato vine. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, a fine bead of acidity, a touch of fleshiness towards the finish with hints of white pepper and clove. This is a complex and persistent Grand Cru that will age with style. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting." Neal Martin, Vinous.com

"Cask sample. Lightish crimson. Fragrant with sweet red cherry, charming and seductive. Relatively slight on the palate. The tannins are super-fine and the freshness is there but the density is less than I might have expected in the middle." Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com
