We will hold our first auction of the fall season on September 14th, 15th and 16th at Chicago’s TRU restaurant. This massive three-day sale features 3,363 lots valued at an estimated $6.2-9.3 million.

Bidders should take note of two particularly remarkable consignments in this sale: The Semersky Collection (lots 2660-2866) and The Paul Chiu Collection (lots 1189-1524). The Semersky Collection launches with a library of Pétrus and first growth Bordeaux, followed by stars from Screaming Eagle and SQN, and concluded with an assortment of rare spirits. Ernie Semersky is a passionate collector who assembled this trove of rarities with care. Everything from this consignment was stored in ideal conditions. The Paul Chiu Collection (lots 1189-1524) showcases many of the top producers of Burgundy. The offering includes selections from Rousseau, Domaine Leflaive, Roumier, Drouhin, Dujac and Mugnier, among others. The excellent storage and provenance, detailed with many original receipts, makes this a collection that Burgundy lovers will not want to miss.

Throughout HDH’s September catalog, bidders will find a plethora of exceptional Bordeaux and Burgundy. Bidders interested in Bordeaux will find 664 lots from over 70 of the region’s top châteaux, with vintages dating from as far back as 1865. Burgundy lovers will be thrilled by the extensive offerings from top producers totaling an estimated $2.2-3.3 million. There are 161 lots of DRC (est. $783,500-1.2 million), 58 lots of Armand Rousseau (est. $173,330-260,540), 44 lots of Leroy (est. $130,800-194,550), and 80 lots of Leflaive (est. $112,140-166,960).

In addition to classic vintages of top Bordeaux and Burgundy, the September sale will include a collection of late release Champagne, sourced directly from the cellars of Dom Pérignon as well as fine California wines from top producers such as Colgin, Harlan, Scarecrow, and Screaming Eagle.

Collectors of fine and rare spirits will find plenty of gems throughout this sale. Highlights from these include NV Hennessy Cognac, Edition Particulière (1 liter) (est. $20,000-30,000), NV LeNell's Red Hook Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, Kentucky Bourbon Distillers Ltd. (1 b) (est. $10,000-15,000), and 1955 Very, Very Old Fitzgerald Bonded 12 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Stitzel-Weller Distillery (1 b) (est. $2,800-4,200). There is also rare tequila and fine scotch that is not to be missed.
