TASTING NOTES
"The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot (Récolte du Domaine) is a touch shut down after its recent bottling, but it opens in the glass with a promising bouquet of citrus oil, Anjou pear, fresh peach and spices, subtly framed by a deft touch of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and tight-knit, with superb concentration and structural tension, a lively girdle of acidity and a long, precise finish. While this is quite introverted, and in that sense typical of the site, it isn't too blocky, making it an elegant rendition of Morgeot. Bottled under Diam 10, it has all the makings of a long-lived white Burgundy." William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Nov 2019

"The creamy texture makes an ideal foil for the flavors of peach, lemon cake and mineral in this white. Beautifully balanced and expressive, echoing the fruit and picking up toasty, spicy notes on the long finish. Drink now through 2026. 30 cases imported." Wine Spectator

"A soft and fruity white with cooked-apple, honey and peach-pie character. Remains subtle and tight. Medium to full body, lovely fruit and a fresh and bright finish. Drink now or hold." JamesSuckling.com

"Once again there is a touch of matchstick character to the resin, citrus zest and essence of pear scents. Like the Clos St. Marc there is a lovely texture to the appealingly vibrant middle weight flavors that possess very good length though this will need to develop more depth to merit the upper end of my projected range."
