"This has a fabulous nose of crushed raspberry and blackberry, with coffee, vanilla bean, tar and spices. Full-bodied, with rich, velvety tannins. There's plenty of fruit, but this is refined and persistent on the palate, with pretty oak influences. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2011. 1,500 cases made." Wine Spectator
Drink from: 2011
"The 2006 Bolgheri Superiore Greppicaia is a bold, racy red endowed with generous dark fruit, minerals, herbs, scorched earth and sweet French oak. The wine possesses gorgeous depth and vibrancy in a fairly accessible style for this important Tuscan vintage. One really senses the potential here, especially if the estate can find a better balance between cooperage and fruit. The underlying materials certainly seem promising. Greppicaia is mostly Merlot, with a touch of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and spent 15 months in French oak prior to being bottled. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016." Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #184
